Happy Friday y’all (yes, I have been watching too much Nashville). I hope you’ve had a fab week whatever you’ve been up to. Ours has been up and down – poor Norton has been very poorly which has led to a few days of worry and an overnight stay at the vet (much to the pleasure of Kira who enjoys having him out of the way and us humans to herself). Luckily he seems to be on the mend and is being snuggled back to his old self this afternoon.Today is the mister’s birthday, so I should be busy showering him with gifts and affection, but instead I’m indulging in the joy of receiving my own parcels (I think I’ve had more to open today than he has – oops!).
From the bold colours and shapes of the African safari of my last fabric delivery, these softer colours and quirky foxy motifs make a lovely contrast. That’s what I love about patchwork and quilting, it is so diverse as the fabric and pattern combinations are endless. This pretty selection is going to become a quilt and matching cushion for a baby boy’s nursery. There are a couple more prints to come, including a red chevron which will set the bundle off nicely. I LOVE these colours. Mint/aqua and red have always been a popular colour match, and once added to pops of yellow against neutral greys and linens, it makes a lovely modern-but-vintage-inspired bundle a little reminiscent of 1950s Americana. All sorts of designers featured here – Eric & Julie Comstock for Moda, Alyssa Thomas for Clothworks and Andie Hanna for Robert Kaufman…the list goes on. In short, a whole lotta yum.
